CASE Electric Machinery

By August 31, 2023No Comments

With electric-powered machinery becoming increasingly in demand today, it’s only a matter of time before electric fleets are seen everywhere, with an estimation of as much as 90% in annual vehicle service and maintenance costs when eliminating diesel, engine oil, etc. Overall improving the bottom line while lowering your operation’s carbon footprint.

World’s 1st Electric Backhoe

CASE was the earliest company to build the first factory-integrated backhoe in 1957. They have once again proved why they are at the forefront of backhoe innovation with the latest release of the 580 EV. Powered by a 480-volt, 90-kilowatt lithium-ion battery pack and charged by any 220-volt/three-phase connection. Every application would differ based on the workload, but each charge should reportedly support eight-hour workdays. The drivetrain and hydraulic motors are both powered separately by the battery pack. Resulting in hydraulic power equivalent to diesel-powered machines while improving performance during simultaneous loader and drivetrain operation. Each 580 EV also comes standard with CASE SiteWatch telematics for additional monitoring and management of machine performance and utilization.

All Electric Mini Excavator

During CNH Industrial Capital Markets Day, CASE unveiled their electric Mini Excavators, with plans of bringing them to market in 2023. With an operating weight of 2,900 lbs., a 21.5-kwh lithium-ion battery (charged by a 110V/220V on-board charger/external charger), and a 21 hp/16kw electric motor. The CX15 EV delivers the same power and performance as its diesel-powered counterparts. While also retaining the ability to choose operating modes, adjust control precision, and run attachments to maintain productivity. CASE also has the CX25 EV at 4,828 lb for jobs requiring a little more performance. With a 27 hp/20 kW electric motor, for more spirited digging!

All Electric Wheel Loader

CASE’s CL36EV is a 3.6 metric ton piece of machinery with a hinge pin height of over 10 feet. With a sneak peek of the new all-electric machine at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023, we saw some of the device’s features. Like CASE SiteConnect Module, a new update includes all-new collaborative fleet management capabilities. While also improving telematics, data transfer, and allowing for remote access. More information and commercial availability will be announced later for CASE dealers in North America.

Conclusion

With emission regulations becoming more rampant in today’s world, an all-electric fleet will start to become a requirement for some. CASE’s partnership with FPT Industrial greatly aids the industry by being able to explore additional solutions in electrification, alternative fuels, and alternative propulsion systems. As the market grows, these solutions will be introduced and provided; stay tuned for more information coming soon!
